The HiFi Buys Amphitheatre located in Atlanta, Georgia, has been one of the premier concert venues in the Southeast since it opened in 1989. Built specifically for popular music, the amphitheatre offers a state of the art musical experience for both music fans and artists. Notable past performers include Prince, The Steve Miller Band, Britney Spears, Tim McGraw, Spice Girls, Sting, Lenny Kravitz, Gwen Stefani, Dave Matthews Band and Jimmy Buffett.
The HiFi Buys Amphitheatre is located in downtown Atlanta at 2002 Lakewood Way, in Lakewood Park. Public transportation is provided by the Lakewood/Fort McPherson Marta Station. MARTA is Atlanta's Rapid Transit Rail system.
The HiFi Buys Amphitheatre is Atlanta's largest outdoor amphitheater. It is an impressive 20,000-seat venue draws large crowds to concerts and other events like the Vans Warped Tour and 99X's Big Day Out. The amphitheatre is open only during warmer months, and many people tailgate in the parking lot before a show.
When the venue opened in 1989, it was called the Lakewood Amphitheatre. Later on, it changed to the Coca-Cola Lakewood Amphitheatre until 2000, when the name was changed back to Lakewood Amphitheatre. In 2001, the venue became known as HiFi Buys Amphitheatre.
